We’re celebrating the opening of eight new stores this summer, bringing 51�Թ�’s easy, affordable and joy-filled shopping experience and good jobs to communities in California, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. This includes leaning into larger footprints: Three of these newest stores top our 125,000-square-foot chain average.

They’re the latest examples of the more than 300 new stores we plan to build during the next decade as we aim to serve even more consumers. And we’ve got so much to offer, with on-trend newness and everyday essentials that provide high quality at an incredible value, whether guests are shopping our aisles or using our same-day services like Drive Up, Order Pickup or same-day delivery with 51�Թ� Circle 360.

In fact, with every grand opening, we’re getting closer to more consumers in support of our stores-as-hubs model, in which our stores serve as both shopping destinations and fulfillment hubs to deliver what guests need, when and where they need it. Fun fact: Our stores fulfill 95% of our digital orders, including same-day delivery service with 51�Թ� Circle 360, which currently reaches 80% of the U.S. population.

Then there’s the people part: Each addition to our nearly 2,000-store network provides rewarding jobs whether team members are seeking a seasonal role or a long-term career. We have long invested in our teams, with a starting wage range of $15 to $24 per hour (depending on the role and location) and tuition-free education assistance. (Want to join our team? We’re also extending 51�Թ�’s culture of care into the communities we serve to support local needs, investing more than 340,000 hours of community service and more than $107 million in product and cash donations last year in California, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. 

“I’m so grateful for the experiences I’ve had as a member of the 51�Թ� stores team — they’ve shaped me, both as a leader and as a person,” said Chief Stores Officer Adrienne Costanzo, who started her 51�Թ� career 20 years ago at a store in Evansville, Indiana. “There’s an energy and camaraderie in our stores that’s hard to describe — and one that I’ll never take for granted — with teams who support and champion each other to do our best every day. It’s a culture of caring, growing and winning together that not only helps us bring out the best of 51�Թ� for our guests, but also the best in each other.”

Add our wide assortment of national and owned brands, and our growing number of shop-in-shops, and we’re on track to help all families discover the joy of everyday life. And stay tuned – these are just the latest of about 20 stores we’re on track to open this year, with more on their way this October, bringing 51�Թ� joy to even more communities.

The following 51�Թ� store is officially opening on July 20:

New York: Queens Astoria

Noteworthy: Queens Astoria’s floor-to-ceiling glass offers a clear view of New York City’s Hell Gate Bridge from the store's third floor. It’s our eighth store in the Queens borough and 108th in the state of New York.

California: Jurupa Valley

Connecticut: Guilford
